Tessa Brown
Hello everyone! my name is Tessa Brown. I'm a sophomore and swimmer at CSUB where I'm majoring in Liberal Studies with the intent of becoming an elementary school teacher. I grew up in Tehachapi, CA and began swimming for the summer recreation team, the Tehachapi Barracudas, when i was eight. When I was thirteen I swam for Bakersfield Swim Club until my hometown began a year round club program a year later, the Tehachapi Valley Aquatics. I swam on my varsity swim team throughout high school and hold many of the school records. I have worked as a lifeguard for the past five years and was an assistant coach for the Barracudas and TVA for three years. Over the past two summers I have been the head coach for the Barracudas swim team. I love being able to share my knowledge and passion for the sport with others and I hope your experiences with Bakersfield Swimming are great!!

Rachel Schell

Hello all, this is Ms. Rachel and i'd like to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself... I am a 21 yr old Senior at CSUB originally from Pismo Beach. I am a Liberal Studies major, hoping to be a first grade teacher even as soon as 2008! I have been swimming for 11 years now and still love competing. I swam back home for the South County Aquatic WAVES for 7 years, I then swam for 2 years at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, after which I transferred to CSUB and have swum there for two years. I have been teaching swim lessons for 5 years and was a swim coach for a year and a half back home. My classes are structured with a balance of fun and rules to keep the class running smoothly and allowing for maximum learning environment. I love working with kids and I would love to be the person who instills in your child this very important healthy knowledge of swimming!! ~Rachel
